Proposed NZAMRC Organisational Changes 2022

23 October 2021

NZ Association of Model Railway Clubs Inc.

PO Box 301318, Albany, AUCKLAND 0752

Dear current, past or prospective member,

Over the past 20 Months, the impact of Covid lockdowns on our clubs has been significant. Around the country, many regular club activities have been severely interrupted. The biennial National Model Railway Convention which is underwritten by the NZAMRC has been delayed two years.  In fact, almost all normal activity of the NZAMRC has ceased.

The NZAMRC executive has spent some of the down-time this year, thinking of ways the NZAMRC can maintain its relevance to the clubs in New Zealand and to the hobby in general.  We have thought of three possible futures. These futures are contrasting and are each detailed in a separate proposal we have put up on the website: NZAMRC Website

1) Revitalised - Modernize and streamline the NZAMRC, and offer a wider varitey of activities to members Revitalisation Proposal & RP Q&A

2) Trust – Resettle the NZAMRC as a  trust, focused on keeping the conventions going but also on financial and other support for the hobby Trust Proposal & Trust Deed

3) Dissolve – Wind-up the NZAMRC in accordance with clause 17 and 18 of its Constitution.

We would like your club’s feedback on the above proposals or other possible futures for the NZAMRC.
Should you need to refer to it, a copy of the NZAMRC constitution is available on the website at: Constitution

This is a major review of what the NZAMRC stands for. Everyone’s feedback is important and will be considered. The feedback document is available at Feedback Form. This document can be completed and emailed back to Association Secretary, Philip Sharp at Alternatively, you can post the completed form to the postal address in the header.

If the contact details for your club on this email are incorrect, please forward the email to the correct person for your club.  Please email the Association  Secretary, Philip Sharp, at on the forwarded email.  If you have any questions, please also email Philip.

I look forward to your considered replies.
